Interior Design for DOM PÉRIGNON 2004 ROSÉ CHAMPAGNE launches events In New York
Leave it to Dom Pérignon to know how to celebrate. The venerable Champagne house toasted the launch of its 2004 vintage rosé with a series of glamorous events and celebrity dinners in New York last week. The festivities took place at the former Con Edison electric substation on Sixth Street in New York’s East Village, which was the home studio of artist Walter De Maria for decades.
To create its own kingdom within the multilevel space, Dom Pérignon called on Kravitz Design, the firm founded by Lenny Kravitz, which added its signature rock 'n' roll edge to the raw beauty of the industrial interior. Acrylic chairs with croc-printed leather cushions, oversize dark mirrors with black frames, and reflective bars were the perfect foil to the iron beams, brick walls, and concrete floors on the second level. On the fourth, the firm created a more intimate setting, conjuring what would be the private loft of the house’s chef de cave, Richard Geoffroy, who was on hand to give tasting notes and expert insight.
Geoffroy discussed the 2004 vintage—highly expressive, bold, and intense—which was vividly represented in the effervescent atmosphere created by Kravitz. Who could think of a chicer way to enjoy a glass of bubbly?
