At the risk of sounding like a total fangirl, let me explain the situation. Imagine, if you will, that you're a teenage girl in the '90s listening to "Let Love Rule" on repeat in your bedroom and dreamily swaying to "It Ain't Over Till It's Over" with your Discman and headphones. Now pretend that your all-time idol of those teen-dream years grew up to become a pretty damn good interior designer who is just about to release his first furniture collection with CB2. Get the picture? That, in a nutshell, is how I feel about Lenny Kravitz.

But even without the significant star power, the collection stands on its own merits. We've spoken before about the groovy, East Coast/West Coast sensibility and textural-meets-metallic references that appear throughout the line—shaggy rugs and shiny finishes, angular shapes and low-slung profiles, and the versatile, '70s-tinged hues. It's like making a serious design statement that's both glam and offhand: "Oh, that slick gold side table? That's just my inner rock star."
