 Suite à un petit souci technique sur le site, nous n’étions pas en mesure de partager quelques mots sur la sortie de la vidéo officielle de « Low », 1er titre du prochain album de "RAISE VIBRATION" de Lenny Kravitz, disponible le 07 septembre prochain. L’ordre étant revenu, nous ne pouvions résister à vous en dire davantage…

Réalisée par Jean-Baptiste Mondino, le célèbre photographe et réalisateur de clip, la vidéo présente le nouveau single de Lenny Kravitz dans un contexte des plus particuliers. « Jean Baptiste fait partie de ma famille depuis le début de ma carrière, » déclare Kravitz. « Il a l’oreille pour saisir l’essence d’une chanson, et il trouve toujours une manière unique pour la présenter visuellement. La première fois qu’il a entendu « Low », il s’est concentré sur le tempo et l’a écouté en boucle. Il en a tiré une pièce noire, un kit de batterie noir et des vêtements noirs. Tout tournait autour du groove et de l’espace. Ça a donné une façon très originale de présenter un morceau qui a bénéficié d’une énorme production, et d’illustrer la conversation qui se déroule dans la chanson. » 

« Je ne voulais plus réaliser de clip, » ajoute Mondino. « Mais quand Lenny m’a fait écouter « Low », je suis tombé amoureux de la chanson, du tempo, de sa voix. Je sais que Lenny est un excellent batteur, alors je lui ai proposé de tourner un vrai clip MUSICAL. Une vidéo avec seulement lui derrière les fûts, sans décor, sans effet, ainsi qu’une fille derrière une batterie. Il a accepté immédiatement ! Et on l’a fait : un rythme puissant, pur et simple, avec une chaleur sexy et pleine d’émotion… Lenny et Jas ont assuré !!! Cette chanson est un classique !!!

A noter que la batteuse est une jeune musicienne, Jas Kayser, une future Cindy Blackman Santana ?

Nous apprécions le style simple et épuré de ce clip et surtout de pouvoir profiter de Lenny à la batterie ! Merci à Monsieur Mondino pour ce moment !

Due to some technical issues, we were not able to share any news with you about the brand new official video of “Low”, the first single from the forthcoming album “raise vibration” on the 7th of September. Everything was sorted out now; so we can’t wait to tell you more…

Directed by Jean-Baptiste Mondino, famous photographer and video maker, the video presents the new single in a specific context. “Jean-Baptiste is part of my family since the beginning of my carrier” stated Lenny. “He got a good ear to catch the essence of a song; and he finds the right and unique manner to visually present it. The 1st time he has heard “Low”, he focused on the tempo and listened to it in a loop. From this exercise came out a black room, with a black drum kit and black outfits. Everything was going around the groove and the space. The result gave a special way to present the single which benefited from a huge production and to illustrate the discussion taking place in the song.”  

“I didn’t want to make videos any longer” added Mondino, “I listened to Low from Lenny, I felt in love with the song; the tempo, his voice; I know that Lenny is an excellent drummer, so I offered him to record a proper musical video; a video with only him behind the drum, without sceneries or effects and with a female drummer playing. He did immediately accept it and we did it: a strong rhythm, pure and simple, with a sexy atmosphere, filled of emotions…Lenny and Jas were very good!  This song is a classic! “

To note that the female drummer, Jas Kayser, is a young musician. Perhaps a future Cindy Blackman Santana!

We appreciate the simple and striped down style from this video and especially to enjoy Lenny playing drums! Thanks to Mr Mondino for this moment!
